Now I remember that a week's works experience at school was meant to help you to realise what working in the ‘real' world was like. Admittedly the work experiences consisted of making tea and sealing envelops, something I'd never like to do again, and for Lewis Edge, on his first day on work experience he must have felt the same.
The visitors to Worksop were high flying Nuneaton Borough who are currently poised in second place behind Stafford Rangers in the Conference North and they showed why they are the second best team in the league with a thumping 4-0 victory.
Edge's first task of the afternoon was to pick the ball out of the back of the net after one minute, Stuart Whittaker smashing home a penalty after former Rusden man Duane Darby was fouled in the box.
The score does sound worse than it was, with the other three goals coming late on for Boro, Duane Darby, Gez Murphy and Mark Noon getting the late goals on 71, 72 and 84 respectively.
So, not the best start for the 19-year-old but I suppose this is what work experiences are for, all keepers need to experience a drubbing so lets just be thankful that it was in a Worksop Town shirt rather than a Blackpool shirt.
